Paris to Nyack: Familiar Faces & Silk Stories

Paris to Nyack: Familiar Faces & Silk Stories

Summer, in Nyack, NY...

Couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun stayed polite, holding back the heat until around 2PM—and even then, folks found shade (and good vibes) under my now-famous green tent.

When I started Cealle Creative, I didn’t set out to do street fairs or festivals. But over time, they’ve proven to be one of the best ways to share my story and introduce myself in real time. You meet all kinds of people at these events—and with those encounters often come shared life experiences, laughter, tears, and sometimes even a hug.

One of my favorite moments is when I say, “I’m the artist and designer.” That’s when something shifts. Their admiration for the collection quickly turns into curiosity about me. I can see the look—they’re trying to figure it out: How did she get that image onto silk? (Yes, I notice. And no, I don’t take it personally. It’s part of the wonder).

This year brought a few beautiful surprises. I ran into two acquaintances I met on a recent study abroad trip to Paris. Though we only connected a few times during the trip, seeing familiar faces sparked an immediate warmth.

But the moment that truly made my day came later in the afternoon.

A woman softly stepped into my tent while I was on a call. Her face looked familiar, and though she seemed a bit reserved, I made sure to meet her eyes. I ended my call, smiled, and she smiled back.

“Do you remember me?” she asked.
I paused, then smiled wider. “Yes, actually—I do. You purchased Essence last year.”
Her face lit up. “Yes!” she said.
And then came the words that touched me most:
“I’m here to get another one.” This time I have my eye on Grace

I was honored to help her pick out a new scarf. But what stayed with me most was that phrase—
“I was here.”
Had she looked for me?
Do I have… a collector?

If that had been my only sale of the day, it would’ve still been a win. Because moments like that? They’re priceless.

This is why I do what I do—Creating beautiful things for beautiful people.

Grateful. Thankful. Inspired.
And already looking forward to the next festival.

Save the Date: Sunday, October 12th
Cealle hopes to see you there.

With love,
Cealle
