Hi! My name is Tanya L. Scott, a native New Yorker—self-taught artist, fashion entrepreneur, and author. I have always been drawn to creativity as both expression and purpose. I have worked across multiple categories within the fashion industry, moving fluidly between design, styling, branding, and creative direction.

I am the Founder and Creative Director of Cealle Creative, a luxury silk scarf and wearable art brand rooted in expression, imagination and legacy. Each design begins as original artwork and is transformed into silk—packaged in our signature green box and paired with a short story that brings the piece to life.

Storytelling has always been at the heart of what I create. It felt natural to give that voice its own space—one that is not only woven through silk, but now carried gently through the pages of my debut book, The Girl God Imagined, An Adult Fairytale for the Young at Heart and an intimate glimpse into the imagination of a “Big” little girl who never stopped believing in magic. By magic, I mean faith.

Cealle was born from a deeply personal moment. One summer, while visiting my grandmother, I began photographing still-life scenes near her home and documenting the stories she shared about growing up in Alabama. Back in New York, as I revisited those images and memories, something shifted. An idea became clear. What began as remembrance became vision—and Cealle was born.

Before launching Cealle, I successfully owned and operated a women’s boutique, The Powderoom in Pelham, Westchester. Over the years, I’ve cultivated meaningful relationships within the fashion community and built a diverse professional network spanning clients, colleagues, and global industry leaders.

My love for fashion began at home. My mother was my first beauty and fashion icon, but it was during the mid-1980s that I discovered the fashion industry itself. After reading an article about American designer Isaac Mizrahi in The New Yorker, I knew I wanted to design beautiful things for women. That defining moment shaped my life’s purpose.
