Harlem Week: Celebrating 50 Years - New York, NY

Harlem Week: Celebrating 50 Years - New York, NY

Harlem Week has always been a summer highlight, but this year was particularly special. Having been a vendor last year, I couldn’t wait to return and immerse myself in a weekend filled with fun, old friends, and new connections. There’s something magical about the energy of Harlem Week, where the rich tapestry of culture, music, and community come alive between the avenues of Malcom X Blvd. and St. Nicholas.

This year marked the 50th anniversary of Harlem Week, making it even more of an honor to be part of such an iconic moment in time. As a native New Yorker born and raised in Harlem, the event holds a special place in my heart. It's more than just a festival; it's a celebration of our history, our people, and our future.

The weekend was packed with memorable moments, but the highlight had to be the unexpected surprise on the last day. As we were winding down, none other than ASAP Ferg stopped by our tent! Though he was being rushed to the stage, he took a moment to check out our collection, and we even got to try some styles out with him. It was a brief encounter, but one that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Harlem Week—you never know who you're going to meet, and the connections you make are truly magical.

Harlem Week is a testament to the strength and vibrancy of community, and I’m so proud to have been a part of it again this year. Whether you’re a visitor or a native New Yorker like me, it’s an experience that stays with you long after the weekend ends.

Here’s to many more years of celebrating Harlem Week and the incredible spirit that makes our neighborhood so special!
