Turning 50 is a gift in and of itself, but when my special day, my birthday, came last October I had no idea just how special it would end up being. At my 50th Birthday Brunch last year I met journalist Kemberly Richardson of ABC7 News. The day that we met, we were both in high spirits as well as a celebratory vibe–the perfect time to make new friends and manifest, if you ask me! Kemberly was honoring her mom’s birthday at Underhills Crossing in Bronxville, NY, one of my favorite restaurants.  A few of my girlfriends encouraged me to approach Kemberly, and it moves me deeply even now to reflect on just how much a moment in time can change your life forever, if you just have the courage to lean in and take action. If it hadn’t been for those friends supporting and encouraging me to introduce myself, that moment, and the seed that was planted in that moment, would never have happened.

During our brief encounter, Kemberly not only acknowledged me, but she encouraged me, and the magic did not end there. As I shared with her about Cealle, Kemberly looked up at me and said matter-of-factly, “This could be a story.” I’m sure Kemberly had no idea just how much she motivated me and added some much-welcomed fuel to my fire. I did not know when, or even if, I would ever hear from her again, but in that moment, I was grateful for the gift Kemberly had given me–encouragement and support.

Six months later, I would hear from Kemberly, with the same certainty that let me know I had nothing to fear, and this was indeed meant to be. And the rest, as they say, is history, herstory, my story… another chapter in the story of Cealle Creative. I am so thrilled and honored to share my very first media placement for Cealle Creative with you!  Click here to view the story.
