Fashion: A Love Letter to Style

Fashion: A Love Letter to Style

Fashion has always been more than just clothing and accessories to me—it's an expression of power, confidence, and beauty. My earliest memories of fashion are rooted in the admiration I had for my mother. Every morning, I’d stand in the small frame of our bathroom door, watching her with wide-eyed wonder as she prepared for the day. The ritual was always the same, yet it felt magical every time.

She’d begin by carefully placing a black wax pencil under warm running water, softening it just enough to use as eyeliner, which accentuated her eyes. That same pencil would then darken the mole that sat perfectly above her lip, a signature mark I’d later use as my brand's logo. The finishing touch of her morning routine was a sweep of blush and a spritz of gold highlights in her hair. Her clothing fit her like a glove, accentuating her silhouette and exuding femininity. I was captivated by her presence. She wasn't just getting dressed—she was transforming, I couldn't wait for my chance to experience that same kind of beauty someday.

As I grew older, I realized that fashion was more than just about how something looked; it was about how it made you feel. The right outfit has the power to command a room, to give you the confidence to stand taller, walk with purpose, and strut with ease. It's a feeling I've chased ever since those mornings watching my mother.

This summer, I had the privilege of visiting the "Sleeping Beauty" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a beautifully curated presentation showcasing centuries-old to modern women’s fashion. Walking through the exhibit, I felt a deep connection to the timelessness of style, and how fashion has always played an important role in expressing my identity.

Fashion is an important part of life. It can make or break you in different aspects of your life—whether it’s the confidence it gives you to tackle challenges or the way it allows you to express who you truly are. For me, fashion is about more than just looking good; it's about feeling empowered and embracing the beauty within and around us.

Designing silk scarves has been an incredible outlet for not just expressing myself, but also the perfect way to weave my passion for fashion and storytelling into wearable art. Each scarf I create is more than just an accessory—it's a piece of my journey, a blend of memories and influences, passed down from my mother.

With Love,
