Manifesting with Intention: Thought to Reality

Manifesting with Intention: Thought to Reality

About two months ago, I found myself reflecting on the way God works in mysterious and often humorous ways. I was on the phone with a close friend and had just finished reading Michelle Obama’s The Light We Carry. As I read, I noticed how much the book sparked clarity in my thoughts and introduced me to new words I had to look up. That inspired me to declare that I would read more books in the new year.

“I’m going to read more books,” I told my friend with conviction.

Just two weeks later, I received an email inviting me to Oprah Winfrey's New Weekly Podcast, where Ms. Winfrey will feature one Book Club author each month, with other episodes including discussions with leaders, global newsmakers, best-selling authors, visionaries, and cultural changemakers. My invite consisted of reading two books: Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan (118 pages) and another upcoming novel spanning 432 pages. Myself and a guest would be part of her first audience!

Initially, I hesitated. I was still finishing The Light We Carry and wondered how I’d tackle these new reads, especially the longer one. But then, I saw it as a challenge—a way to honor my declaration. In that moment, I realized that the universe and God had heard my intention loud and clear.

This reminded me of something else I had manifested last year: meeting Ms. Winfrey again. That dream came true almost one year to the date. I had subconsciously carried the light of that moment into the present. I’ve noticed that when I focus my thoughts with intention, they often come to fruition—sometimes directly, and sometimes in ways that are completely unexpected.

As the production approached, I was asked by one of the producers if I would be bringing a guest. Initially, I planned to go alone. But then I remembered a coworker and friend, Amy, who is an avid reader. She had recently introduced me to audiobooks (something I had never tried) and spoke excitedly about Barbra Streisand’s memoir on Audible. I thought, “Why not share this experience with her?” Especially since, when I asked how many books she had read this year, she casually replied, “56!”

We met at the Starbucks Reserve at the Empire State Building. I arrived early, connecting with other women who would also attend the taping. As we introduced ourselves and chatted about the books, Amy arrived, her excitement radiating as she joined us.

Together, we made our way through security and found our seats. I sat to the left of the stage, with a clear view of Ms. Winfrey and Claire Keegan. When Ms. Winfrey walked by, you could feel the magic in her presence—a magnetic energy that filled the room.

The first book discussed was Small Things Like These, and much of the audience shared similar impressions of its depth and simplicity. Claire Keegan herself was thoughtful and deliberate in her responses, her words holding a quiet power. This book is a must-read and would make a perfect stocking stuffer!

After her segment, I found the perfect moment to share a piece of my story through my work. I gifted Claire my Barnyard scarf, part of my Sweet Memories collection, which was inspired by my grandmother and her siblings playing around the barn during their childhood. The scarf represents how small, simple moments can create lasting joy—a sentiment that connected beautifully with the themes of her book.

I also brought another scarf for Ms. Winfrey, entrusting it to someone on her team to hand to her as a gift. I chose Sista-Friend because it felt right—something she might give to someone she holds dear. I don’t know what will come of it, but I trust that it was meant to be.

This experience reaffirmed something my spouse often reminds me: “Keep planting seeds, and the harvest will come.” Each step, each intention, and each creation carries light. And when we let that light lead us, it has a way of guiding us to moments of alignment, magic, and purpose.

Keep shining and keep trusting the journey.

With Love
Cealle,
