Who Are You?

Who Are You?

The question “Who Are You?” seems to be trending a lot lately. When I ask myself this question, the first thought that comes to me is, “A work in progress. Open to receive.”

When I look back on who I was five years ago, I don’t see the person I am today. When I reflect back to just a year ago, I’m also different. Life evolves and so do we. We are not one way or one person. We are many things based on our life experiences. A year ago, I may not have said “NO” when I wanted to, but I've moved beyond that state of being. A month ago, I released myself from feeling like I had to counter unfavorable conversations and diminish my authority and sense of personal power in the process. This was my old way of being. I have made the decision to trust and honor my true state of being and own it.

I’m evolving every moment I inhale and exhale. I’m evolving each and every day. As dynamic beings, we are constantly decoding our personality traits in some way, shape, or form. The people we interact with during our multiple modes and states of being (work mode, provider/caregiver mode, creative/play mode) provide valuable insight on where we are in our life and how we are showing up in our life. These moments also present powerful opportunities for change and growth.

"Who Am I?

I am an artist and a storyteller.

My undercurrent is the still of the night, thunder amidst a storm, a cool breeze on a warm summer night. Passion and pain, teacher and student. Beautiful and bruised, sweet and salty. Kind and unkind, silly and serious, sexy and provocative.  I am everything I feel, see and touch. I am hell and high water, grace and gratitude. But on my best days, I am open to receive and focused in the direction of light.  I am light. I am light and love with all my flaws, both beneath and above. I love being a mix of things and personalities. I can get along with anyone. I’ve never met a stranger! I know who I am, and it's ever-changing.

I invite you to take a moment to ask yourself who you are. You may be surprised or delighted with the answer that presents to you. Know that you are love and loved.

With Love,
